Three Body Problem trilogy [draft]

Spoiler alert. Go read the book first :)

This was my first ever science-fiction book. Hard to believe unless I also mention that I didn’t start casually reading til post-college. Prior to reading, I heard many good things about the books, both from Hacker News and some friends. I went into reading with expectations and throughout the series they were exceeded over and over. I will join the crowd and say that the Three Body Problem trilogy is worth reading. Here are my key takeaways:

We live in a world where anything can happen

Taking into account current events, COVID-19 made sweeping changes to people’s lives around the world in a matter of months. For those of us who were lucky to hold onto jobs, we’re likely working at home. Then, there are those who lost their jobs. If I were living in the TBP setting, I would feel exactly the same way if I heard that aliens were on their way to eradicate humans.
